    About Birgir

    Since 2017, Birgir has been an important part of the Rheumatology Department at Oslo University Hospital, and through his commitment he has shaped a positive impact on patients' lives. Since 2015, he has also been the dedicated rheumatologist at Oslo Orthopedic Center, now CMedical, where he brings his expertise and care to every consultation.

    During the years 2012-2017, Birgir was not only a lecturer in rheumatology at the University of Oslo; he was also an inspirer who shared his passion for the subject with future healthcare professionals. He completed his doctoral work at UiO in 2017, where he specialized in vasculitis.

    Before becoming a renowned rheumatologist, Birgir brought his medical passion and knowledge from 2003 to 2007 as a trainee in internal medicine at Reykjavik University Hospital/Landspitalinn. His extensive knowledge in endocrinology, cardiology, hematology/oncology, renal, pulmonary, gastroenterology, geriatrics and rheumatology has enabled him to provide comprehensive care to patients.

    Birgir proudly carries his 2003 medical diploma from Iceland, and his dedication to helping people and making a positive difference in healthcare has been the driving force throughout his impressive career.

    You do not need a referral to book an appointment with us. You can easily book directly via our website or call us. If you have a referral from your GP, please bring it with you to the consultation.

    We offer short waiting times. Most people get an appointment within 1-3 days, depending on the type of treatment and availability.

    Our specialists can write a sick note if there is a medical basis for it. This is assessed individually during the consultation.
