About Birgir
From 2017 until now, Birgir has held the position of senior consultant at the Department of Rheumatology, Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet. Since 2015, he has also been a consulting rheumatologist at Oslo Orthopedic Center, now C-Medical.
In the period from 2012 to 2017, Birgir served as a lecturer in rheumatology at the University of Oslo. He completed his doctoral degree at UiO in 2017 with a focus on vasculitis. Previously, from 2003 to 2007, Birgir pursued medical specialization in internal medicine, focusing on endocrinology, cardiology, hematology/oncology, nephrology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, and rheumatology at the University Hospital in Reykjavik/Landspitalinn. He graduated with a medical degree in 2003 from Iceland.
