Margarida Schaefer

Margarida is a specialist psychologist in clinical adult psychology with broad experience from the specialist health service, rehabilitation and private practice. She also has in-depth experience from «Raskere tilbake» (return-to-work) projects, helping people on long-term sick leave or at risk of falling out of working life.

She has a strong commitment to women's health, chronic health challenges and identity. Margarida offers support for a wide range of issues, including hormonal and reproductive complaints such as PMS, endometriosis, menopause and fertility challenges, as well as complex pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and ME. She also provides safe guidance and support around topics related to sexual orientation and gender incongruence, and offers assessment and treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, crises, grief, stress, burnout and personality-related difficulties.

As a therapist she combines methods from, among others, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), mentalization-based therapy (MBT), metacognitive interpersonal therapy (MIT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Treatment is tailored to your unique needs and goals. In the therapy room she meets you with curiosity, warmth and a focus on emotions, exploring new understandings and opportunities for personal growth together.
