About Gilbert
Dr. Gilbert Moatshe is a specialist in orthopedic surgery and works at the Department of Orthopaedics at Oslo University Hospital (Ullevål). He has specialized in arthroscopic surgery and sports injuries, with particular expertise in knee surgery (including cruciate ligament and other knee ligament injuries) and shoulder surgery (including instability and tendon injuries). He also has international experience from the USA and Canada, where he completed fellowship training after specialization. Dr. Gilbert Moatshe holds a PhD in knee surgery from the University of Oslo.
He is actively involved in elite sports and sports injuries, and conducts research in this area. Dr. Moatshe has published over 100 scientific research articles and book chapters. His research group has received several international awards from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). He gives courses and lectures both nationally and internationally.
