Calcific tendinitis is caused by calcium deposits in the tendon. The calcium forms as a result of tendon inflammation beneath the acromion. This causes pain when using the arm. The condition often coexists with impingement syndrome and must be treated simultaneously. Surgery for calcific tendinitis may be necessary if symptoms cannot be managed with shockwave therapy, medication, and physiotherapy.

Surgery and Treatment: Surgery for calcific tendinitis involves making a small incision in the tendon to remove the calcium deposits. Typically, a subacromial decompression is performed at the same time, where the underside of the acromion is smoothed to prevent impingement when the arm is lifted.

Inflammation of the shoulder joint capsule. A painful condition characterized by pain and restricted motion in the shoulder and often the arm. Both men and women can develop a frozen shoulder, but it most commonly affects women aged 40–60.

Surgery: Capsular release is performed under general anesthesia using arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) of the shoulder joint, achieving full motion immediately post-op. The purpose is to restore mobility by carefully releasing the stiffened shoulder joint capsule and stretching the shoulder to full range of motion.
