About hysterectomy
Removal of the uterus (hysterectomy) is recommended for troublesome fibroids (myomas), abnormal bleeding, or cancer of the uterus or cervix. It may also be relevant for endometriosis or persistent cervical cell changes. The uterus is removed in full; the ovaries are usually left if you have not reached menopause.
There are several methods to remove the uterus. We use gentle keyhole or robot-assisted surgery. We are the only private provider offering robot-assisted surgery — a gentler, more precise method. Rarely, difficult anatomy may require a small bikini-line incision.
As our patient you receive detailed information about the procedure, risks and aftercare, plus your surgeon’s phone number. Side effects are few and sexual function can remain as before.
Our surgeons are among the Nordic leaders in gynaecological keyhole and robot-assisted surgery.
We look after you safely throughout your care pathway.
