About Bjørn

Bjørn Brennhovd introduced robotic-assisted surgery in Norway in 2004, following years of leading the team for all urological cancer surgeries at Radiumhospitalet. He has performed 100–150 procedures annually, actively contributing to the training of healthcare professionals in Norway. Bjørn has been the medical director of the urological department at Radiumhospitalet since 2005 and has overseen all urological robotic surgery at Oslo University Hospital since 2014.

Bjørn is the national principal investigator in a large Scandinavian multicenter study on the treatment of high-risk prostate cancer. All results from his practice are meticulously recorded in a database, and research findings are published with various perspectives in international journals. Bjørn is also a participant in the national group developing National Guidelines for the treatment of prostate cancer under the auspices of the Norwegian Directorate of Health.
