About Bjørn
Bjørn Brennhovd introduced robot-assisted surgery in Norway in 2004, after having led the team for all urological cancer surgeries at Radiumhospitalet for many years. He has performed 100–150 procedures annually and has actively participated in the training of healthcare personnel in Norway. Bjørn has been medically responsible for the urological department at Radiumhospitalet since 2005 and has been in charge of all urological robotic surgery at Oslo University Hospital since 2014.
Bjørn is the national principal investigator in a large Scandinavian multicenter study on the treatment of high-risk prostate cancer. All results from his practice are carefully recorded in a database, and the research results have been published with different perspectives in international journals. Bjørn is also a participant in the national group that prepares National Guidelines for the Treatment of Prostate Cancer under the auspices of the Norwegian Directorate of Health.
