    About assisted reproduction

There are several different treatment methods for assisted reproduction. We develop the treatment method so that it is tailored specifically to you and your needs.

In Vitro Fertilization means "fertilization outside the body", also often referred to as test tube treatment. In practice, this means that we retrieve mature eggs from the woman during a small operation, which is done with local anaesthetic. The eggs will then be fertilized in a test tube, and then put back into the woman's uterus.

The aim is to give you as a woman the greatest possible chance of having a child, in as safe a way as possible. Each IVF treatment is adapted based on individual conditions. It is therefore important that a thorough fertility check is carried out before you start treatment.

TESA/PESA is a common treatment method for extracting sperm from the scrotum. The extraction is done with local anaesthetic.

TESA/PESA is a method we use if the man is sterilized or has another medical condition that causes serious abnormalities or no sperm in the semen analysis.

TESA is a surgical procedure where we enter the testicle to retrieve sperm cells. PESA is a method where the sperm are sucked out of the epididymis via a thin needle.

After TESA/PESA, ICSI must be used as the fertilization method. The woman undergoes IVF treatment to retrieve eggs that can be fertilized in the laboratory.

We offer advanced treatments for men with fertility problems. Micro-TESE (microdissection testicular sperm extraction) is a microsurgical procedure performed under microscopic guidance to identify and extract sperm directly from the testicles. This is an effective method for men with azoospermia, where sperm cells are not found in semen samples.

Studies have shown that micro-TESE has a higher success rate compared to the traditional TESE procedure, especially for men with non-obstructive azoospermia. Our fertility specialist Jackson Tok is certified for Micro-TESE at the Center for Male Reproductive Medicine and Microsurgery at Weill Cornell University in New York City.
