Conisation is a minor surgical procedure in which a small part of the outer layer of the cervix is removed. The procedure prevents cell changes from developing into cervical cancer.
At our Bekkestua clinic we offer conisation under local anaesthetic, performed by our experienced gynaecologist Birgitte Aspenes. The procedure usually takes around 15 minutes, and you are well looked after in calm, safe surroundings. If you are very anxious, the procedure is moved to Majorstuen, where you can have general anaesthesia or sedation.
