    About sterilisation

Sterilization (vasectomy) is a simple, safe and effective treatment for permanent contraception. If you are absolutely certain that you do not want any more children in the future, sterilization may be an option.

Vasectomy (male sterilization) is performed under local anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision in the scrotum, localizes the vas deferens, and then isolates and divides it. A small section of the duct is removed, and the ends are tied off/sealed to prevent them from growing back together.

The same procedure is repeated on the other vas deferens. Unless there has been previous surgery in the scrotum, the operation is typically straightforward and completed within half an hour. The removed tissue segments are sent to the laboratory for histological confirmation that the vas deferens has been successfully divided.
